Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Le Alcove sits in the centre of Alberobello, where several ancient trulli, the symbol of the town, have been beautifully restored.

Rooms at Le Alcove

There are just nine luxurious rooms and suites, all individually decorated and themed, and each bearing the name of an ancient trade - the weaver, the poet, the midwife... They all feature stone walls and flooring, and the incredible, distinctive cone-shaped roofs of the trulli, with plenty of other characterful features such as four-poster beds beneath stone arches, mezzanine levels and high conical ceilings, with bathtubs set in alcoves decorated with mosaics of semi-precious stones, and showers with limestone pebbles. They also have a unique underfloor heating and cooling system. The two largest suites are located at La Torreta, a short distance from the main hotel.

Food & drink

For breakfast, tuck into local, freshly-prepared fare, which gives traditional flavours a modern twist (with eggs cooked however you like), and other touches in your room include fresh fruit in the morning and cookies in the evening. There are also several restaurants nearby to choose from for lunch and dinner.

Facilities

If you fancy a spot of pampering, spa facilities are available nearby.

Activities at Le Alcove

The hotel is just a few steps from the main square and surrounding streets, with their charming taverns, restaurants and shops.  We recommend the traditional Puglian cuisine in Antica Trattoria Miniello, located just 150 metres from the hotel. You should also visit museums of wine, crafts and architecture in Alberobello, including Pezzolla, the ancient residence of a doctor, which details the methods and techniques of the unique trulli houses of the area.

This is a perfect location for relaxing visits to this fascinating area of Apulia, and many more of the region's most important attractions are within easy reach of Alberobello. The Baroque jewel of Martina Franca is just 15km away, and the cave dwellings at Matera are also well worth seeing, while the endless beaches of the Adriatic are just half an hour's drive away.

Meanwhile, younger members of the family will love the Zoosafari Fasanolandia safari park, which has rides such as log flumes and rollercoasters as well as animals from tigers to elephants.
