Hotel Overview

Sense of place

La Minerva is an intimate boutique hotel, simple and tasteful with an emphasis on a warm atmosphere and making every guest feel at home. Originally opened as a guesthouse in the early 20th century, the hotel retains a sense of family hospitality thanks to owners Antonio and Giovanna and their sons, Luigi and Antonino.

Rooms at La Minerva

Rooms at La Minerva are split across five terraces which slope towards the sea, and are bright and spacious with high vaulted ceilings. Some feature terraces with pergolas, arches and bougainvillea, and sweeping views of the ocean. Deluxe rooms feature beautiful, hand-painted majolica floor tiles.

Food and drink

There’s no restaurant at La Minerva, but breakfast is an extensive affair, with a selection of fresh fruits, pastries and cooked options alongside local delicacies, patisseries and cakes. Light lunches and drinks are also available at the Pool Bar. Breakfast is served on the beautiful roof terrace, which has the finest views of Capri anywhere in the hotel, but can be served in your room at no additional cost.

Facilities

La Minerva’s serene pool, surrounded by lush gardens of mimosa, almond and citrus trees, is a beautiful way to while away the days.  Come sunset, the terrace is the perfect spot for a candlelit nightcap. Various excursions can be arranged from the hotel, such as private trips in a traditional gozzo boat, with the guidance of an experienced sailor, in which you can explore Capri’s secluded bays and famous water caves such as the Blue Grotto, which glows with an iridescent blue light, the Grotta Verde and the Grotta Bianca.

Activites at La Minerva

Things to see on dry land in Capri include the fashionable Piazzetta and designer boutiques of the Via Camarelle, and the beautiful Gardens of Augustus. The ruins of the Villa Jovis, from which Tiberius ruled the Roman Empire in the early first century, can be found in the northeast of the island atop Mount Tiberio.
