Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Camogli is a charming fishing town on the Amalfi Coast which has been pleasingly overlooked by the rush of tourists who flock to the likes of Portofino every summer. Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi, traditional without being fusty and luxurious but not opulent, reflects the old-fashioned and sleepy atmosphere of the town.

Rooms at Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi

Rooms are classically designed and furnished, all crisp bed linen, cream cedar furniture and parquet floors. All are spacious and bright, with many featuring sea views. Bathrooms are tastefully decorated with majolica tiles and feature Jacuzzi baths, while some sea view rooms feature a terrace from which you can gaze out over the ocean.

Food and drink

The hotel has three restaurants which are located in Camogli: Il Doge, which is open year round; La Playa, which is open from May to September; and La Terrazza di Giulia, which is open between June and September. All serve up delicious Ligurian cuisine with a contemporary gastronomic edge. If you’d like to have a go yourself, the hotel periodically organises cooking classes where the chefs will teach you how to create delicious Ligurian dishes from fresh seasonal ingredients.

Facilities

The hotel features a beauty centre, Doge Beauty Spa, where a range of treatments are on offer including bamboo and hot stone massages. Guests also have exclusive access to the stretch of the beach which the hotel opens on to, with free access to sun loungers, umbrellas and beach towels. The beautiful swimming pool, filled with filtered sea water, overlooks the ocean and is a beautiful spot to relax with a book or a cocktail from the hotel bar.

Activities at Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi

Cenobio dei Dogi’s location makes it perfect for exploring Camogli’s quaint old town. The Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, a Catholic abbey which sits right on the pebble beach, is well worth a visit as is the Basilica de Santa Maria Assunta, which features incredibly ceilings and artwork. A beautiful hiking trail, from Camogli to San Frantusso, takes around three hours.
