Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Located in the countryside of Siena between Florence and Rome, Fonteverde is 13km from the San Casciano lake – a great hiking spot – and 25km from the village of Chiusi, a prime archaeological location with Etruscan and Roman remains.

Rooms at Fonteverde

The rooms and suites at Fonteverde are the epitome of sophistication. The Renaissance influence is apparent in the décor, with rooms furnished with wooden furniture, grand and stylish armchairs (a symbol of wealth in the Renaissance era) and luxurious bedspreads in rich red and gold tones. The marble bathrooms are equally resplendent, and the suites are more spacious with a sitting area to read and unwind.

Food & Drink

Tuck into fresh salads, ricotta and buffalo mozzarella cheese braids and a vast selection of organic produce, all expertly prepared by resident chef Salvatore Quarto who will put together a personalised menu for you, with preferences and intolerances catered for. Little ones will be delighted by the specially-prepared and colourful children's meals.

With a selection of irresistible pastries at the breakfast buffet, you will be tempted to indulge – and you should too as they are low-calorie ones made from unrefined sugar. After all, a trip to Italy isn’t complete without the food.

Facilities

The spa at Fontverde is the go-to spot for wellness treatments and soaking sessions, offering everything from hydrotherapeutic treatments and dietary advice to physiotherapy. The Bioaquam café, overlooking the thermal pool, has a beautiful deck for catching some sun and enjoying a light snack. The Technogym offers personal training with special courses and trainers on hand to help you get fit.

Activities at Fonteverde

Enjoy tennis, golf and horseback riding, bicycle tours and water aerobics classes. If you’re after something a little more unique, you can embark on a hot air balloon adventure from the nearby medieval town of Montepulciano and be treated to staggeringly gorgeous views of hilly Siena from above.
