When to go to Iceland

Thanks to the Atlantic Gulf Stream, Iceland often has warm and temperate summers and mild weather, though winters can be much colder.

Spring and summer (May-August) are the best times to visit for sunnier weather, while the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, are best seen between the months of September and April. For three months in the summer, there is continuous daylight, a phenomenon known as the Midnight Sun.
