Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Tainaron Blue is set on rocks 150 metres above the sea and is just four miles from the southernmost point of the Greek mainland.

Rooms at Tainaron Blue

Original and full of character, the three vintage bedrooms have unobstructed sea and mountain views and are embellished with exposed stone, light woods, sleek stainless steel additions and works of art created by sculptor Nikos Karalis. Austere yet intimate, go for the Executive Double Room with Sea View for its beautiful vaulted ceiling and direct access to the patio and outdoor infinity pool.

Food & drink

Feel like king of the castle and start your days with a feast. Dive into the freshly baked breads and homemade jams and sip on the delicious coffee and fresh orange juice before following it up with a hearty onion-cheese pie and an omelette with wild asparagus and local sausage.

For lunch and dinner, you can choose from a menu of innovative Greek dishes, whipped up using local ingredients, and if it’s on the menu, go for the extremely tender marinated and oven-baked pork shoulder with crunchy onions and prickly pear jam.

Facilities

Suspended between sea, sky and rock, enjoy your free time by the infinity hydrotherapy swimming pool. When the sun gets too hot, migrate to the poolside where olive trees and the canopied sunbed provide natural shade for a quiet afternoon of book reading.

Activities at Tainaron Blue

Head south on foot, bike or by car to Cape Tainaron, where you’ll see a temple dedicated to Poseidon. Inside the temple is a cave believed to be the gates of Hades, guarded by the monstrous three-headed dog, Cerberus. Alternatively, you can travel north to the caves of Diros and take a boat ride past stunning stalactites and stalagmites. There’s a small museum here with ceramics, tools and bone fragments from the Neolithic age, just perfect for budding archaeologists, while a day spent walking through the towered streets will leave any historian or architect head over heels in love with the beautiful town of Vathia.
