Hotel Overview

Sense of place

With its suites and living areas branching off a central staircase, all whitewashed and designed in the 17th century Lindian style, Melenos Lindos feels like a miniature village in itself. The hotel has been a labour of love for its friendly owner, Michalis Melenos, a local Lindos character.

Rooms at Melenos Lindos

Melenos Lindos’ beautiful rooms and suites reflect the owner’s passion for collecting unique artworks and artefacts, which adorn the walls and come from Greece, Turkey, Italy, Syria and beyond. The rooms are decorated in the same 17th century style as the rest of the hotel, with intricate hand-carved woodwork and marble mosaic floors. Many have private terraces with panoramic views over Lindos Bay.

Food and drink

At the rooftop terrace restaurant, delicious Greek cuisine is served in an impressive setting overlooking the ocean. The restaurant’s chefs add contemporary touches to traditional Greek dishes and emphasise the use of fresh local produce. Breakfast is served a la carte, either in your room or on the terrace, and features seasonal fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt and homemade pastries.

Facilities

Service at Melenos Lindos is second-to-none, and begins before you even arrive – staff will meet you in the village square to pick up your luggage and save you carrying it up the steep steps. Childcare and a babysitter can be arranged on request, as can makeup and spa services. The hotel will also help you arrange anything during your stay, from boat and car rentals to restaurant reservations.

Activities at Melenos Lindos

Renting a boat for the day is a great way to get to know the beautiful Lindos Bay, where you can fish, snorkel, dive, kayak and water-ski. Just up the hill from the hotel is the 10th-century acropolis, the town’s ancient citadel, while the old town of Rhodes, around 50 minutes’ drive away, is beautifully preserved and well worth a visit. Cooking classes are available at the hotel, where you can learn to cook traditional Greek dishes before sitting down to dinner.
