Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Fenomen Plitvice sits in the heart of Plitvice Lakes National Park, a stunning region of karst mountains, lakes and canyons. Over a thousand animal species live in the park, including brown bears, wolves and eagles, and it is home to an amazing 30% of Croatia’s plant life, including thick forests of beech and fir.

Rooms at Fenomen Plitvice

Fenomen Plitvice’s suites and lodges offer a rare combination of hotel-level comfort and country rusticity. The stylish chalets have been designed to blend in with their surroundings, and have an organic feel thanks to the extensive use of natural woods. In contrast, the design and amenities are very modern, with comfortable bedrooms (there are one and two-bedroom options) and bathrooms, TVs, fully-equipped kitchens and mini-bars. Outside, there’s a terrace where you can relax and take in the views over the countryside.

Food & Drink

The chalets are self-catering, and you’ll have everything you need to cook and eat meals, thanks to your kitchenette. Should you fancy a change of scene, though, there are plenty of other options. In the morning a buffet breakfast is provided, and there is also the option to cook meals in the main kitchen or dine at the restaurant, which offers a taste of traditional Croatian cuisine. Sample dishes include baked rabbit with sweet potatoes, smoked trout and pheasant soup.

Facilities

After a day exploring the park and breathing in the fresh country air, the hotel’s sauna and Jacuzzi are the perfect places to relax and recharge. Massage treatments and Pilates are also on hand to help soothe those tired muscles.

Activities at Fenomen Plitvice

Needless to say, outdoor activities are the order of the day here. Explore the lakes, waterfalls and the pristine surrounding woodlands and never-ending green meadows of the national park, including on raised wooden walkways that wind around and over the water. Hiking or horse riding through the nearby forests is a great way to get to know the beauty of Plitvice up close, while you can experience its famous waterways by kayak. Along the way, you may get to see red deer, wolves, flocks of butterflies and a wide range of rare birds, and you can also add to the park’s beauty yourself by planting trees during your stay.

Personalised tours can also be arranged, from birdwatching expeditions to cycling tours, as well as gastronomy experiences which give guests the opportunity to pick and cook produce from the vegetable garden.

Back at the hotel, you can play football, volleyball, badminton and archery, gather round the campfire or watch a film.
