Hotel Overview

Sense of place

In a historic four-storey 16th-century building on People’s Square, in the heart of the old town of Split, near Diocletian’s Palace and the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, Palace Judita Heritage Hotel encapsulates the history of its surroundings and is perfectly located for exploring the old town.

Rooms at Palace Judita Heritage Hotel

The rooms and suites are traditional and elegant in design, with dark wood furnishings and polished parquet floors, while the hotel’s historic surroundings are hinted at with original features like exposed stone walls and wooden ceiling beams. Many rooms have views of the old town, some from their own private balcony. Extra beds and cots can be provided for children under the age of 8, who stay free of charge.

Food & drink

An extensive breakfast selection is served on the hotel's terrace every morning, and there is a café bar at the front of the hotel.

Food and drink options are plentiful around the hotel. Villa Spiza is one of the top restaurants in the city, offering delicious fresh seafood in an informal setting. On the edge of the old town, meanwhile, Paradox Wine & Cheese Bar is a trendy nightspot, with over 100 Dalmatian wines and more than 20 artisanal cheeses from the region on offer.

Facilities

The hotel has its own library of books, guide books and magazines for guests’ perusal, and the friendly and helpful staff will happily advise you on activities and excursions and organise tickets, guided tours and transport.

Activities at Palace Judita Heritage Hotel

The many impressive historic sites of Split’s old town are on your doorstep, most prominently the vast Diocletian’s Palace, which takes up around half of the old town and is a living, breathing museum. The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, originally built as Diocletian’s mausoleum, is incredibly well-preserved – the clocktower is a later addition, but still dates from the 12th century – and contains many centuries-old artworks and artefacts.

For an artistic fix, head to the Gallery of Fine Arts, which contains paintings and sculptures spanning 700 years, up to modern-day Croatian artists.
