The Lindis

The Lindis is on the Ben Avon Station, which occupies 6,000 acres of the Ahuriri Valley, which itself spans nearly 50,000 hectares. It is surrounded by the valley's snow-capped peaks, tussock lands, beech forests and wetlands, and much of the area is a conservation park. The lodge has an eye-catching modern design, including natural materials such as rock and timber, and waved roofs to mimic the curves of the land.

The delicious daily menus feature the very best of local, seasonal produce, including ingredients grown in the hotel's own gardens. In the stunning setting of the aptly-named grand hall, sample locally-foraged porcini mushrooms, kumara (sweet potato) gnocchi, fresh fish such as South Island crayfish and Aoraki alpine salmon, and local cheeses with handmade chutneys.
