Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Breckenridge Lodge is tucked away in the valley of Omarunui - it's hard to believe that you’re only a short distance from the main attractions in Hawke’s Bay, with Napier and Hastings also close by.

Rooms at Breckenridge Lodge

The five air-conditioned guest rooms feature a king-size bed and large windows that flood the room with light, alongside spectacular views of the vineyards - wake up to sun-drenched vistas from your bed. The rooms are individually decorated, with rich-coloured fabrics and textures. The spacious bathrooms feature shampoo made with the lodge’s own lavender.

Food & Drink

Your host, celebrated chef Malcolm Redmond, is passionate about creating an unforgettable gourmet experience and your dinners will be served in the inviting dining room - the perfect environment to experience pre-dinner drinks and his delicious degustation menu of five different courses.

The menu changes regularly depending on the seasonal produce available, with organic homegrown ingredients including herbs, salad, fruit and vegetables, whilst the wine cellar is always well stocked with wines from the local area and around New Zealand.

Facilities

If you love the food (and we guarantee you will), take a private cooking lesson with Malcolm, where you’ll learn some of the secrets of his remarkable dishes.

Activities at Breckenridge Lodge

With over 70 vineyards and wineries in Hawke’s Bay (which is New Zealand’s oldest wine region), visiting a vineyard and sampling some tasters is a must. Keen anglers, meanwhile, can enjoy fly-fishing on the river.
