Otahuna Lodge

Situated in 20 acres of countryside, just outside Christchurch.

Suites are entirely unique, with opulent decor and ornate furniture that echoes the Lodge’s Victorian heritage. All rooms are located within the original homestead, and feature deep sunken bathtubs, super-king beds and Penhaligon toiletries. Ask for the Master Suite with the private 14 metre veranda in spring and watch the sun set over the brilliant yellow daffodil fields in full bloom.

Dinner is the chef’s five course degustation menu, prepared with fresh produce from the Lodge’s gardens and served with complimentary New Zealand wines. Decorated with the mansion’s original wallpaper, the Dining Room is simply charming, but a more private dinner can also be arranged in the Wine Cellar, also known as the old game house.

Drive to nearby Akaroa and swim with the rare Hector’s Dolphin; ask your hosts for a delightful tour of the gardens, or spend the day lounging by the pool - but beware, you might find it difficult to peel yourself away from the serene atmosphere of this Lodge!
