Arthur's Pass Wilderness Lodge sit in the heart of the Southern Alps, surrounded by the mountains of Arthur's Pass National Park. It is 16km from the village of Arthur’s Pass. This is an area of great natural beauty, with soaring mountains and plunging valleys making up the landscape and a rich variety of wildlife making its home there. The national park begs to be explored and has a variety of walking trails.

Rooms at Arthur's Pass Wilderness Lodge

The lodge was designed to blend into a natural forest clearing and features wood, concrete and corrugated iron. The Mountain View rooms have magnificent views out over the Waimakariri River Valley and the Southern Alps, and the Alpine Lodge rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with a spa bath, a kitchenette and a gas fire. All rooms come with private balconies.

Food & Drink

At the Mount Rolleston restaurant, delicious gourmet cuisine is served up in a stunning setting overlooking the mountains. Classic New Zealand dishes dominate the menu, with an emphasis on the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients, grown on the farm wherever possible - Wilderness Lodge lamb  is a particular speciality.

Farm-grown bacon, ham, eggs and Manuka honey form the basis of hearty breakfasts, which are a great way to start each day.

Activities at Arthur's Pass Wilderness Lodge

Discover wild New Zealand in the spectacular mountain setting and experience life on a high country merino sheep station. Walk from the lodge into a natural paradise of 2,400 hectares, filled with beech forest, tussock clearings, moss-lined streams and lakes.

There’s a daily programme of complimentary guided activities to help you explore the area's beautiful natural wonders, with sheep herding, stargazing, and wildlife walks in the McKay Moa Forest all on offer.
