Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Eagles Nest has a spectacular location overlooking the Bay of Islands, within easy walking distance of the historic seaside town of Russell.

Rooms at Eagles Nest

There are five contemporary individually-designed villas, which all feature spectacular views of the Bay of Islands, Jacuzzis, home entertainment systems, fully equipped kitchens and private decks with barbecues. They range from one to four bedrooms, with 15 bedrooms in total. Four villas have their own private, heated infinity pools. Couples will love the intimacy of the one-bedroomed First Light Villa, but the crowning jewel in Eagles Nest's villa collection is the ultra-luxurious four-bedroom Rahimoana Villa.

Food & Drink

Though each villa is self-contained, it’s common for guests to utilise the retreat’s resident private chefs who tailor-make menus specifically for you. With everything from lobster to lamb on offer, there’s something for everyone, washed down with New Zealand wines from the extensive cellar. Breakfast provisions are restocked in your villa’s fridge every day.

Facilities

Eagles Nest has its own private, secluded beaches, and there are also golf courses nearby.

Activities at Eagles Nest

Between lounging on the estate’s beaches and horse riding and mountain biking amongst the various different bush trails, take a private helicopter tour from the hotel's helipad and experience the beauty of this stunning natural landscape from above. Or how about a picnic on your very own private island?
