Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Cable Beach’s 14 miles of white sand have given it a reputation as one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, and the resort itself enjoys unrivalled access. The villas, studios and suites are set in green, jungle-like gardens and recall the halcyon days of Broome’s pearling industry with their colonial-Asian fusion architecture.

Rooms at Cable Beach Club

Cable Beach Club’s accommodation is spread across Studios, Bungalows, Villas and Suites. All are designed to evoke the style of the colonial-Asian fusion architecture brought to Broome by the pearling industry, and have Asian features like dark wood flooring and shutters. Bungalows are set amid the resort’s landscaped gardens and are correspondingly vibrant, with green timber latticework and red wooden pillars. The opulent Suites are truly fit for one of Broome’s ‘master pearlers’ and are each styled after one of three prominent Australian artists: Humphrey Price-Jones, Sir Sidney Nolan or Elizabeth Durack. The rooms are adorned with the artists’ work, which is complemented by exotic antiques and artefacts as well as beautiful views over the Indian Ocean.

Food and drink

Broome is famous for being a melting pot of diverse cultures, and that is reflected in the variety of dining options available at Cable Beach Club. The Club Restaurant is gorgeous, all dark wood and Asian lanterns, and serves local specialities like pearl meat and barramundi alongside international dishes. Sunset Bar & Grill is great for a casual dinner as you watch the sun go down, and the tropical Rambutan serves up superb Southeast Asian cuisine; there’s also Japanese on offer at Zensai.

Facilities

Whether you’re after lazy days lounging beside the water or more strenuous activities, Cable Beach Club has something to offer everybody. The lagoon-style Ocean Pool is an adults-only retreat, where you can enjoy al fresco dining and cocktails in the shade of a palm tree beside a beautiful pool. Guests of all ages are welcome at the Family Pool, which has a water playground, activity centre and mini golf course. The water playground has buckets, sprays and slides, and there’s also a traditional playground with climbing frames. There are also tennis courts on site. When you’re sufficiently tired out, head to the Chahoya Spa, where a range of rejuvenating treatments are on offer, or to the Buddha Sanctuary, a peaceful ornamental garden centred around a large statue of the Buddha.

Activities at Cable Beach Club

As well as the plethora of activities on offer at the resort, there’s plenty to do in the surrounding area. Cable Beach itself is one of the most spectacular beaches in Australia, with white sand, clear water and amazing sunsets – a camel ride on the beach is a fantastic way to experience this. The mudflats of Roebuck Bay are particularly picturesque during the cooler months, when the rising full moon reflects off them to create columns of light known as the ‘Staircase to the Moon.’ At Gantheaume Point, about an hour’s walk along the beach from the resort, you’ll find stunning ocean views from the red cliffs, dinosaur footprints and plant fossils.
