Hotel Overview

Where

On the serene banks of North West Bay, fifteen minutes from the town of Hobart.

Rooms at Villa Howden

Just ten luxurious suites make up the accommodation at Villa Howden, each effortlessly stylish and airy, with French doors opening out to the villa’s well-manicured grounds. Chateau-esque decor is a theme throughout the hotel, with antique furniture, neutral and pastel palettes and comfortable sofas and beds.

Food and facilities

The restaurant places seasonal and regional produce, sourced from the area’s local farmers and fishermen, at the heart of its menu and is served in the villa’s tasteful dining room. Weekends see high teas, laden with scones, cakes and Tasmanian sparkling wine, while the restaurant’s adjoining piano bar has an intimate, living room-style atmosphere for an after-dinner drink.

Activities at Villa Howden

Huon Valley is known for its wineries, and the villa is well-located for taking a cellar door-to-door tour of the many that are local. Head into Hobart, Tasmania’s capital, which is a haven for contemporary art and the venue for the popular Salamanca Market every weekend. On site, play a little petanque or lawn croquet on the villa’s landscaped gardens or simply relax in the sunroom with a cocktail or in the loft library with a good book.
