Hotel Overview

Where

Five minutes from Hobart’s bustling city centre in south-east Tasmania.

Rooms at Islington Hotel

There are eleven rooms at The Islington Hotel in Attic, Garden, Regency and Signature styles. Five rooms are located within the original building, where opulent fabrics, rustic antiques, fine art and custom-made, king-sized Islington Angel beds feature. Garden Rooms have grand French doors that open out onto the gardens, whilst, tucked away at the top of a spiralling staircase, the Attic Room offers breathtaking views of Mount Wellington.

Food and facilities

The sun-filled conservatory restaurant serves a delicious menu of locally sourced, seasonal food, with an elegant, modern European / Australian flair. For something a little more special, ask to dine at the grand colonial table in the library and enjoy the grandiose ambience.

Activities at Islington Hotel

Even though you’re only a short walk away from the centre of Hobart, we could forgive you for wanting to stay at the Islington. Go for a country walk in the gardens during the day, before retiring to the lavish Asian-themed drawing room for a house martini in the evening.
