Hotel Overview

Where

On Tasmania’s eastern coast, overlooking the expansive Great Oyster Bay.

Rooms at Saffire Freycinet

The views are the main priority in the twenty suites at Saffire Freycinet, where floor-to-ceiling windows do justice to the landscapes of the Hazard Mountains and Coles Bay. The cushy beds and well-stuffed sofas are positioned towards the bay, and private courtyards and balconies are perfect for taking it all in. Low-impact design and sustainability are also key here, where the furniture is locally-sourced and natural materials of stone and wood uphold the modern architecture without sacrificing comfort.

Food and facilities

Saffire’s fortunate position on the brink of the bay makes for some fabulously fresh seafood and shellfish, which is accompanied by the best of the region’s seasonal produce on the menu at Palate. Like the rest of the hotel, panoramic windows face out to the bay, delivering incredible views. The Lounge has a slight fifties vibe, and is a chilled-out venue for an early evening drink or reading in front of the fireplace. The spa is staffed by some of the region’s best therapists and masseurs and treatments draw inspiration from the encircling environment, like the Hazards Heated Stone Relaxation.

Activities at Saffire Freycinet

Your stay at the hotel includes a fantastic range of activities to take you out and about into the stunning surrounds – pop on a pair of waders and get to know how a nearby oyster farm works; sip some of the region’s finest at the local Freycinet winery; canoe the tranquil waters of the Swanport estuary to behold flocks of pelicans; fish for squid and salmon in Great Oyster Bay; or learn to cook or shake up a cocktail with one of the hotel’s classes.
