Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Sea Dragon Lodge is in a beautiful setting amongst the pristine landscapes and wildlife of Kangaroo Island, which sits off the coast of Adelaide.

Rooms at Sea Dragon Lodge

The suites and eco-villas have elegant and spacious interiors with timber wood floors and large windows to make the most of the light and the spectacular views. The main lodge has two Premium Ocean View suites, which, alongside plush beds, TVs and DVD players, also have, as their name suggests, beautiful sea views, with private decks where you can enjoy the sea breeze. One also has a second bedroom with woodland views.

The eco-villas set in the bushland are private and secluded, and also have lovely sea views, as well as TVs, iPod docks and spacious living and kitchen areas. If you don’t feel like cooking though, tuck into gourmet hampers of delicious local produce. The Deluxe Spa eco-villa has a private heated spa pool on the deck, overlooking the beach - perfect for relaxing in with a glass of champagne.

Food & Drink

This is a fantastic spot to savour delicious local food and wines, such as fresh fish, organic honey and eggs, and wine from Dudley Wines, a local boutique winery. Meals are pre-ordered before your arrival, ensuring that they suit your requirements and tastes. With breakfast, lunch and three-course evening meals, you certainly won’t go hungry. There is a dining area, and you can also enjoy tasty barbecues on the deck. In the morning, have breakfast in your room if you can’t face getting out of bed.

Facilities

There’s a lounge with a front deck where you can take in the views and watch the kangaroos as they come up to drink from the birdbath. Inside, you can retreat to the cosy wood fire on colder evenings, and there's plenty to keep you entertained, including TVs, DVDs, CDs, iPod players, books and board games.

Activities at Sea Dragon Lodge

Kangaroo Island has over 500km of beautiful, rugged coastline and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, from the kangaroos that give the island its name to echidnas (spiny anteaters), goannas (lizards) and the impossibly cute little penguins that make their way up the shore to their burrows at dusk.

Swim in the sea and relax on the beach at Pink Bay, and make the most of the scenic walking trails, including bushwalks and beachcombing trips. You can also enjoy personalised 4WD tours, dolphin and whale-spotting trips, and fishing excursions with expert guides - these are exclusive to the lodge’s guests and can be tailored to suit you. Return to the lodge in time for the magnificent sunsets over the sea.
