Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Set along the northern coastline, on the tip of the Bay of Shoals.

Rooms at Lifetime Private Retreats

Each of the four homes - Sky House, Cliff House, Settlers Homestead & Sheoaks – has a fully fitted kitchen, sea and beach views, contemporary interiors and a private stone courtyard for leisurely afternoons and evening BBQ. Between them, you can expect rammed-earth exteriors, huge Villeroy & Boch bathtubs and underfloor heating.
Greek in style, the Cliff House is a three-bedroom dream with a Jacuzzi, cushioned sunken pit with open fire, and outdoor private courtyard. We particularly love the circular tower bedroom with its panoramic window overlooking the southern sea!

Food and drink

The houses have cooking facilities, including a dishwasher, oven and coffee machine, as well as a patio with BBQ facilities, but if you want, you can have a personal chef whip up delicious, locally sourced meals, such as fresh fish and samphire from the river running into the bay, on request.

Facilities

The retreat has a private helicopter landing area for those wanting to arrive in style, and plenty of romantic fireplaces with board games for those looking for a quiet evening alone. For the inner artist, make use of the watercolour pad and paints provided and starting sketching the landscape for a unique souvenir to take home.

Activities at Lifetime Private Retreats

Watch dolphins and seals from your window, take a scenic helicopter flight over the island to see its abundant native plants and animals or head towards the water to go snorkelling and fishing.
Follow the many hiking trails to catch a glimpse of the island’s impressive list of birds of prey or tour the area with a private guide to visit the koala sanctuary, the signature landmark Remarkable Rocks and a colony of over 600 seal bulls, cows and adorable pups.
