Rooms at Ikara Safari Camp

The camp has 15 premium safari tents in total, each kitted out with king size beds, en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and private decks opening out into the wilderness on your very door step. Among these are two family tents, which are larger in size and hold bunk beds for the youngsters.

Food and facilities

Enjoy tasty meals in the open among the native pines and red tinged landscape, dining under the stars with a campfire to illuminate your surroundings and keep you toasty on chilly evenings. Look out for a passing kangaroo, emu, or yellow-footed rock wallaby, all common to the region.

Activities at Ikara Safari Camp

By day, head out to explore the dramatic scenery, taking bushwalks to breathtaking lookout spots, mountain biking over the rocky peaks, or flying over spectacular Wilpena Pound – a natural amphitheatre renowned for its geological history. Head out to Old Wilpena station to unveil the rich pastoral history, or visit Ikara, the meeting place, which is an interpretive display giving fascinating insight into the indigenous Adnyamathanha way of life.
