In a gorgeous riverside location beside the ancient Daintree Rainforest in tropical north Queensland, on the edge of Mossman Gorge.

Rooms at Silky Oaks

Billabong, River and Treehouses are set into the rainforest and surrounded by lush gardens; each has been carefully designed to offer privacy and maximum comfort. Interiors are spacious and attractively furnished in natural wooden decor with a range of contemporary comforts including a daybed. Each unit has floor-to-ceiling windows which open onto a wide verandah where a hammock is perfectly positioned to make the most of the garden, river or rainforest views.

Food & drink

The open aired Treehouse Restaurant is enveloped by the rainforest canopy, with sensational forest and river views, and offers an innovative menu featuring the freshest local produce and fine Australian wines. The bar area, positioned above the Mossman River, providing spectacular views of the Daintree Rainforest for afternoon teas and evening cocktails. 

Facilities

The lodge's Healing Waters Spa variety of therapies including facials, massages and ritual programmes. There are also spacious open-air lounge areas for unwinding plus reading rooms and a reference library.

Activities at Silky Oaks

A number of self guided wallks are available in the area, plus guided walks departing daily at dusk. Instructed yoga classes are held in the pavilion or down by the river, the natural setting enhancing the spiritual experience. Get out on the water by canoe or kayaking which are available beside the lodge. The billabong is also excellent for snorkelling - keep your eyes peeled for freshwater turtles, eels, perch and platypus.

A daily shuttle service operates to Port Douglas, connecting you to Four Mile Beach and shopping, wining and dining, plus a wealth of sailing options for exploring the Great Barrier Reef.
