Rooms at Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat

The Rose Gums retreat only has 9 tree houses that are handcrafted from pole and timber. Studio Tree houses cater for up to 2 guests, Two Bedroom Tree houses cater for up to 4 guests and there are additional tree houses that can sleep up to 6 guests. Each Treehouse is self-contained and has its own kitchen and laundry facilities as well as spacious living and dining areas. Interiors are exceedingly private and homely with wood burning fireplaces and private balconies. You’ll be treated to large spa baths, king sized beds, super soft bathrobes and a complimentary breakfast hamper on your first morning.

Food and facilities

Enjoy an evening meal at Leaf, Rose Gums’ restaurant in the treetops. Breakfast hampers are available and include bacon, eggs, bread, butter, jams, organic yoghurt, tea & coffee and Tim Tams among other treats. You’ll also have full access to the Rose Gums kitchen facilities for whipping up your own delicious meals, or try your hand at an Aussie barbeque. Just remember to stock up on food before you arrive. Nearby Malanda while Yungaburra both have a comprehensive choice in its supermarket

Activities at Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat

At Rose Gums there are a number of quaint activities available such as bird watching, wildlife watching and taking in the lush landscape of the Wooroonooran National Park. There are a range of wilderness walks that have varying levels of difficulty. You can walk alongside the nearby creek and stop off for a picnic, take a dip under the Malanda waterfall or see the new areas of reforestation in the surrounding area. The villages & markets of Malanda, Yungaburra & Atherton are all worth visiting, as are the Eacham & Barrine crater lakes and the Wetlands of Bromfield.
