Rooms at Cicada Lodge

The Lodge has 18 rooms each designed to blend well with the distinctive sandstone countryside surroundings. All feature panoramic windows and full length louvred doors which lead out onto private balconies, allowing you the choice of opening your room up to the sounds and sights of the native bush or closing them for a private sanctuary. Rooms are decorated with indigenous artwork by local artists, creating a unique blend of rich colours with modern design and fittings.

Food and Facilities

Guests are invited to taste the native Australian foods that are the mainstay of the hotel’s fresh, contemporary menu. Dishes combine traditional elements with unique flavours from the region, including the use of local herbs and fruits with fresh produce and a speciality dish chosen by the chef, based on the season. As well as being treated to delicious food, the hotel has an array of other facilities, including an outdoor pool and room service when you don’t feel like eating out.

Activities at Cicada Lodge

You can explore the area on a self-guided walk, or by canoeing with a picnic lunch, or by taking a tour of the town of Katherine. Nitmiluk Katherine Gorge, Cutta Cutta Caves, Edith Falls, Mataranka Springs and the Umbrawarra Gorge are all in the area, so there is plenty to do for culture vultures. If you’re looking for an adventure, helicopter flights can also be arranged, to visit the rock art and swimming sites.
