Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Laurels B & B is surrounded by countryside near Morton National Park in Kangaroo Valley, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, just a five-minute drive from Kangaroo Valley village.

Rooms at The Laurels B&B

With just four individually styled bedrooms, you’re guaranteed some peace and tranquillity here. The rooms are light and spacious, and come with antique furnishings, plush king-sized beds and sofas, flatscreen TVs and polished wood floors, as well as Victorian claw-foot bathtubs. French doors open on to the veranda and the gardens.

Food and drink

Enjoy a hearty breakfast of fresh juices, bacon, eggs, muffins and smoked salmon in the morning in the Dining Room. This regal room has a 19th-century hand-carved sideboard, an impressive porcelain and crystal collection and a piano, and overlooks the laurel trees which give the B&B its name and the mountains beyond.

Facilities

Enjoy the sunny mornings in the pretty gardens, and unwind in the Sitting Room after a day’s exploring. The B&B has an impressive book collection, if you fancy losing yourself in a good novel while you’re here. French doors lead to the veranda and the sight of inquisitive cows, chickens pecking in the gardens and kangaroos hopping in the fields.

Activities at The Laurels B&B

As well as the village and its food and crafts markets nearby, beautiful wineries to visit and numerous opportunities to explore the spectacular scenery, crystal clear waters and abundant wildlife of Kangaroo Valley on foot, bike or kayak, there are many landmarks within easy driving distance. Within a 15-minute drive is Fitzroy Falls, where you can explore the bushland on a boardwalk around the impressive waterfall.
Also nearby are the large lake of Tallowa Dam and the Cambewarra Mountain Lookout at the top of the mountain range, with panoramic views from the mountains all the way to the coast. Keep an eye out for wombats, kookaburras and king parrots while you’re there.
If you’d like to head to the beach, the south coast is a 30-minute drive away. Jervis Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in New South Wales, is around an hour away.
Back at The Laurels, relax by the fire in the elegant Sitting Room with a glass of wine and some cheese.
