Hotel Overview

Where

In the south Pacific Ocean, less than a two hour flight from Sydney or Brisbane, Lord Howe Island is a hidden gem and less well-known than the islands of Queensland.

Rooms at Capella Lodge

There are just nine suites at the Lodge, all with a contemporary beach house feel and the best views of the ocean and Mounts Gower and Lidgbird. Inside, the suites have all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury lodge and outside there are private decks with day beds to kick back, relax and enjoy the views. Some of the larger suites are ideally suited to families.

Food and facilities

Fabulous views of the lagoon and mountains are on show in the beach-house style Restaurant and Bar at Capella Lodge, where the contemporary Pacific menu showcases local, organic produce and the relaxed atmosphere goes hand-in-hand with the laidback beach philosophy at the hotel. The spa offers a range of treatments – try the sacred stone therapy using heated basalt stones from the island’s beaches.

Activities at Capella Lodge

There’s plenty to do at Capella Lodge; try bush walking or cycling through the numerous trails, snorkelling off the beach, exploring the lagoon in a glass bottomed kayak, hand feeding fish in the shallow clear waters or heading off for some deep sea fishing.
