Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The harmonious landscape along the Mekong is an eclectic blend of hillsides carpeted in jungle, expansive low-lying flood plains and ethnic villages peppering the banks. You’ll pass ancient temples, and catch a glimpse of how locals live off the land in some of Southeast Asia’s most rural spots.

Rooms on board The RV Jahan

The 26 cabins all channel the vessel’s colonial Indian design, with beautifully appointed interiors and coloured with Indian patterns. Accommodation options include superior, deluxe and signature state rooms, or, for an added splurge of luxury, there are two Jacuzzi suites: The Taj, flaunting Indian design decor and fit for a king, or The Lord Byron, delicately decorated with British colonial paintings on its walls.

Food and drink

Dinner is served in the grand Viceroy dining hall, where western and local cuisine is on the menu and large floor-to-ceiling windows ensure you’re not spared on the view when dining.
High tea can be taken at the romantic Observatory, where private dinners can also be arranged; sundowner cocktails can be enjoyed at Funnel bar, offering light snacks a la carte. You might also be treated to a barbecue on the pool deck or a private balcony prosecco breakfast.

Spread across three decks, the RV Jahan boasts a wealth of five-star facilities, including a gymnasium, pool deck and Jacuzzi. Go for a pamper session at the Apsara Spa, or wash away any stresses in the steam rooms. If you’re feeling a little more active, start each day with a Tai Chi class on the deck, or join a Khmer cooking class. Regular educational lectures are also held on board, with topics covering art, social sciences, humanitarian studies and ethnology.

Activities on board The RV Jahan

The ship stops off at new and exciting destinations each day, taking in some of South East Asia’s most iconic landmarks – including the great Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. Choose to travel upstream on the ‘The Lost Civilization’ cruise, or downstream on the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ cruise, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Siem Reap. You’ll stop off at colourful floating markets, tribal villages and royal palaces, travelling in a range of modes of transport including ox carts, sampans, dinghies and bicycles.
