Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Heron House sits surrounded by rice fields in the countryside just two kilometres outside the ancient city of Hoi An, whose picturesque bridges and historic streets lined with traditional tailors and other artisans' workshops are just a short journey away by taxi or bicycle.

Room at Heron House

With just three rooms, a stay at Heron House promises to be a peaceful and intimate one. Each room is unique and very spacious, and features beautiful tiled floors and thatched wooden ceilings. The bathrooms, separated by wooden screens, have vintage fittings and huge marble bathtubs. The beds are carved from rugged wood, as are the large window shutters, which - along with the breezy linens and French doors - give the place a colonial, plantation house feel.

Each room opens onto a furnished veranda, a perfect place to spend an evening gazing out over the rice fields.

Food & drink

Like everything at Heron House, dining is a homely affair, with Loic serving up a wide range of hearty Vietnamese and international dishes. Barbecues in the garden are a popular option, and on a daily basis there is homemade bread, as well as cookies for younger families.

The restaurants of Hoi An are home to some of the finest food in Vietnam, both traditional and modern - Loic and Van Anh will enthusiastically give recommendations.

Loic has created a diverse list of irresistible infused cocktails for the guests-only bar, including a popular menu of gin and tonics - just the thing for cooling off after a day in Hoi An.

Facilities

In addition to enjoying the delicious breakfasts, guests are welcome to make use of the communal kitchen to enjoy tea, coffee, and fresh tropical fruits, as well as a fridge full of other goodies.

Each veranda has a sunbed, hammock and chairs where you can relax with a glass of wine and take in the views after cooling off in the pool.

Activities at Heron House

Heron House offers complimentary concierge services, and staff are on hand at all times of day for anything you need, to help you make the most of your stay.

Top of your agenda here should be exploring the ancient streets of Hoi An, which has long been a hub for trade and craftsmanship. Pick up a bargain at one of the town’s traditional tailors, and visit the beautiful Tan Ky House for a classic example of Hoi An’s blending of Vietnamese and Far Eastern architecture. Other highlights include the wooden Japanese Covered Bridge, which still stands proud after almost 500 years, and the impressive Chinese assembly halls.

Back at Heron House, enjoy watching a movie of your choice at the outdoor cinema under the stars, while floating in the pool. A perfect way to end the day!
