Phuket is known for its beautifully soft sand, coconut palms, and balmy turquoise waters, but for those who want to get away from the bustling towns (and annoying beach hawkers!), this hotel is perfect. Hidden within the tropical hillside and sharing the stretch of cove with just one other resort, The Surin Phuket couldn't be more secluded.
Perfect forBarefoot luxury for families and couples.
In the knowThai New Year (13th – 15th April) is a magical time to be on Phuket, celebrated with the release of glowing lanterns into the sky, and the non-stop water-festival, Songkran. Kids and grown-ups alike can be seen tearing around with water-pistols, dousing passers-by with vats of water, and patting each other’s cheeks with scented talc: good clean fun to be had by all!

Hotel Overview

Where

Phuket is on the East coast of mainland Thailand, and The Surin is on the island’s quieter side.

Rooms at The Surin Phuket

There are 108 thatched roof cottages, some just a few steps from the beach, and others tucked amongst the coconut trees on the hillside. When you slope back from the beach, you can head inside for a nap in the cool interiors: spacious and airy with high vaulted ceilings, and with delicate touches like orchids and oriental silk. All have views of the Andaman Sea, and large terraces or balconies.

Food and Facilities

The bare-foot experience begins with a beautiful breakfast buffet, including an omelette station so you can get your eggs just how you like them. During the day, you’ll get fruit skewers bought to you on the beach, and as sunset falls you can choose between dinner on the beach, or elevated above it with panoramic views of the Andaman Sea. As you tuck in to more-ish Thai dishes, your evening will be enhanced with traditional music and dances, and there are often BBQs on the beach.

Activities at The Surin Phuket

The pace is wonderfully slow at The Surin Phuket, so most of the activities won’t even require you to put shoes on! Slip into the balmy waters and snorkel amongst iridescent fish, or take a speedboat a few minutes out and encounter the mesmeric coral reef. As you get more adventurous, you may like to take a PADI certified diving course: swimming with leopard sharks, and exploring underwater caves. Back on dry land, there are no less than 5 international-standard golf-courses, and at the centre of the island there’s the national park and tropical waterfalls to explore. Finally, for an unforgettable day trip, how about visiting the iconic James Bond Island on a traditional Thai junk boat?
