Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

In the east of Thailand, on the lush island of Koh Kood, off the south-east coast of the Gulf of Siam. Koh Kood is Thailand's fourth largest but least populated island.

Rooms at Soneva Kiri

The luxurious villas come with between one and six bedrooms, and are located on the beach or on the slopes of the rainforest, nestled in the trees. They all have spacious rustic-chic interiors with king-sized canopied beds and open-air bathrooms, and some have private kitchens and spas. They are built with sustainable woods in an open-plan style to make the most of the views over the rainforest and the sea, and many have direct access to the beach.

You can relax in style on a daybed on your private terrace and have a refreshing dip in your private infinity pool. Give in to lazy days: each villa also enjoys the services of a private butler, so you'll have your very own Mr or Mrs Friday, and you'll also get your own personal electric buggy so you can drive yourself everywhere and create your own daily itinerary.

Food & Drink

Soneva Kiri takes dining to new heights. Ever imagined dining in the treetops? Here, you can do just that in the Treepod as you are elevated up in the seclusion of the trees to enjoy dinner in total privacy in a bamboo pod amongst the branches: take in the stunning views and listen to birdsong as your waiter ziplines up with your next delicious course.

Alternatively, enjoy dishes created in the wood-fired rock oven in the Dining Room, perched above rocky cliffs and sheltered by the rainforest canopy. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, linger over a romantic moonlit dinner on the beach, by the waterfalls or amongst the mangroves. On a hot day, a visit to the ice-cream parlour is a must (and it has over 60 flavours), while chocaholics will love the irresistible range of handmade chocolates, including truffles, mousses and fondues. Wash it all down with a chilled coconut juice or a refreshing tropical cocktail.

Facilities

If you're not relaxed enough already, have a swim in the beautiful pool, overlooking the jungle, or unwind in the spa, where therapists use fabulous natural ingredients in their treatments, which range from Ayurvedic massages to Thai herbal baths.

Activities at Soneva Kiri

Try your hand at catamaran sailing, water skiing, wake boarding, snorkelling and diving, and discover the colourful marine world of Koh Chang National Park. Explore the beautiful surroundings, including dense jungles and pristine beaches, by foot or mountain bike, and visit local fishing villages, before relaxing on the private beach, fringed with coconut palms.

Meanwhile, the Den offers a creative and fun play area for children, including a bamboo playground shaped like a manta ray and the chance to learn how to play Thai instruments, go on rainforest walks and visit local schools (as well as enjoy sneaky visits to the chocolate room).

Further afield, Soneva Kiri isn't far from Cambodia and one of its biggest draws - you can even enjoy a private flight to Siem Reap and experience the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat from above, flying low over rice paddies and lush green jungle.

As night falls, enjoy a sunset cocktail cruise, observe the night-time constellations in the observatory, or see a classic film under the stars at the outdoor cinema, Cinema Paradiso, where the screen rises above the waters of the lagoon.
