In the evenings, have a cocktail in the bar, accompanied by a pianist, before a comfortable night’s sleep in your luxurious private cabin, complete with air conditioning and ensuite bathroom.
Day 1
After a welcome reception on the train, enjoy your first delicious evening meal, a drink or two in the bar and your first night onboard as the train travels through the countryside of southern Malaysia.
Day 2
After breakfast, you'll arrive at Kuala Kangsar for a fascinating tour of the grand Ubudiah Mosque (considered to be one of the most spectacular mosques in Malaysia), the historic Royal Museum of Perak and the Sultan Shah Gallery (housed in a former palace). Enjoy the afternoon at leisure back onboard, including a decadent dinner, as you continue your journey to Thailand.
Day 3
Enjoy breakfast and some relaxation before you disembark later this morning at the River Kwai Bridge station for a scenic cruise along the river with a local expert historian. Afterwards, visit a war museum and a war cemetery to learn more about the area's history. After lunch back onboard your train, you'll arrive in Bangkok in the late afternoon.
