Singapore & the Datai Langkawi

Fly overnight to buzzing Singapore, and spend three nights at The Fullerton. Formerly the General Post Office, and the arrival point for Singapore’s early settlers, this grand hotel gives you a sense of history in what is otherwise an ultra-futuristic city. It also has fantastic views over the river, and from here you can take a ‘bum boat’ cruise to see the packed commuter ferries, the grand colonial buildings, and towering skyscrapers. After this, you can hit the designer boutiques of Orchard Road; visit Chinatown for amazing dim sum, before wandering around the peaceful botanical gardens where you’ll see incredible orchids and giant sci-fi esque artificial trees. Other must dos include sampling the famous chilli crab, and visiting the iconic Raffles Hotel for afternoon tea and Singapore Slings.

It’s a direct flight to the beautiful island of Langkawi where you’ll stay at the exclusive beach retreat, The Datai. When you arrive, you’ll barely be able to see the hotel as it’s totally surrounded by dense virgin rainforest, and on your first morning you’ll wake up to the sights and sounds of nature, exotic birds, and monkeys leaping to and from your veranda.

Spend four days relaxing on the stunning beach and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters; trek into the rainforest in search of waterfalls, or take a boat trip to the tiny surrounding islands where you can picnic in deserted coves. For something more exhilarating, you can also head inland to Langkawi’s amazing zip-line and fly right through the rainforest canopy. Enjoy gorgeous spa treatments in amongst the trees, and to-die-for Malaysian cuisine with the most stunning of views, before flying back to Kuala Lumpur the following day where you’ll catch your return flight home.
