Sense of Place

Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa sits on Pantai Dalit beach, within the Rasa Ria Nature Reserve.

Rooms at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa

All the rooms and suites at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa are perched on a hill, guaranteeing spectacular views over the beach and the sea, surrounded by 400 acres of tropical forest - enjoy the vistas from your private balcony or lanai (patio) and relax on your daybed or your oversized outdoor bathtub.

The interior design is inspired by nature, and the rooms are decorated with earthy tones – light browns and creams – with attractive features such as wooden panelling and gorgeous marble bathrooms.

Food & Drink

There is something for everyone here - opt for laidback dining at the Coffee Terrace, spicy Indian specialities at Naan - Flavours of India or gourmet meals at Kozan, which serves up delicious traditional Japanese dishes. For something completely different, try the Malaysian street food-inspired Makan Street restaurant, designed to capture the atmosphere of traditional food stalls.

The beachfront Sampan Bar is an ideal spot for a snack and a drink throughout the day, while the stylish Lobby Lounge is the place to be in the evening, where you can sip cocktails accompanied by live music.

Golfers will be happy teeing off at the eco-friendly championship golf course, with its views of Mount Kinabalu, while the blissful spa has a range of treatments, featuring natural botanical and herbal products renowned for their therapeutic properties.

Little ones are guaranteed to be entertained at the kids club, with activities such as treasure hunts, batik painting, cookie making, pony rides, kite-making and origami sessions. There are also two pools (including one for children), tennis courts, a gym and a private beach to relax on.

Activities at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa

Each day a number of activities are on offer, including jungle walks, a summit breakfast on the 15ft observation tower, cooking classes and the chance for children to become a ‘ranger for a day’. There are also cycling tours and a wide range of water sports on offer, from banana boat trips to kayaking.

Explore the surrounding nature reserve, and for something truly special, book a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to get close to these rare primates. If you’re a budding botanist head to Kota Kinabalu National Park and be amazed at the variety of pitcher (carnivorous) plants!
