Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Sofitel Luang Prabang sits just outside of central Luang Prabang, in a laid-back and rural residential area, and just a short walk from several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Rooms at Sofitel Luang Prabang

The 25 luxurious villa suites are set within tranquil frangipani-scented gardens. Architecture-wise, original French colonial features meet simple, contemporary design, with handwoven textiles and Lao artefacts, alongside high ceilings and lustrous stone floors. For even more luxury, the bathroom walls can be opened up entirely for an al fresco bath or rainshower. You’ll also have a large, private garden, with daybeds for relaxing, whilst the pool suites come with an enticing indigo-tiled pool.

Food & Drink

Authentic flavours of the Luang Prabang region can be savoured at the Governor's Grill, thanks to the world-class chefs, with specialities including local buffalo meat. Your meal will be further enhanced by the pretty views of the courtyard and gardens. If you're feeling inspired, take a traditional Lao cooking class.

Facilities

There is a blissful spa, a fitness centre and a gorgeous pool, set in the lush gardens - you can even enjoy a spa treatment by the pool.

Activities at Sofitel Luang Prabang

The hotel is just a short walk from the UNESCO Heritage Centre, or you can take a leisurely cycle ride on one of the Sofitel's complimentary bikes. Sunrise is the perfect time to begin your cultural experience - head to the centre and watch the daily procession of hundreds of saffron-cloaked monks. You can also visit beautifully ornate temples and the imposing Royal Palace, where the last king was evicted in 1975.

For nature lovers, a longtail boat trip is a must: observing the swirling pool where the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers join, swimming beneath stunning turquoise waterfalls, and visiting the impressive Pak Ou caves, which are filled with Buddha statues.
