Hotel Overview

Where

A quiet forest on the beautiful island of Miyajima, famed for its ancient streets and stunning views.

Rooms at Iwaso Ryokan

Rooms at Iwaso are in the traditional Japanese style, featuring futon bedding and tatami mats. Some are in the ancient, ornate original Honkan building, while rooms in the more modern Shinkan annex feature private onsen baths.

Food and facilities

Offering multi-course kaiseki extravaganzas either in your room, in a private dining room or in the Momiji restaurant, Iwaso Ryokan uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients, including seafood from the Seto Inland Sea.

Activities at Iwaso Ryokan

Iwaso Ryokan is perfectly located for exploring the ‘divine island’ of Miyajima, as famed for its picturesque landscapes as for its incredibly 12th century architecture, including the famous floating tori temple gate. The hotel’s onsen uses water straight from the Makayima hot spring, in a selection of indoor and open air baths.
