Food and facilities

Hakone Ginyu Ryokan is committed to producing exquisite, traditional kaiseki cuisine, with an emphasis on seafood, served either in one of the two restaurants or in the comfort of your own room. The Ginyu spa, meanwhile, is perfect for relaxation after a day’s hiking in the mountains, featuring a range of treatments which make the most of the area’s famous volcanicity.

The beautiful surrounding landscape, which includes the volcanic Lake Ashi, Suginami Avenue and the hiking town of Owakudani, is begging to be explored. For culture vultures, there’s also the Hakone Open Air Museum, featuring a mixture of Japanese and Western sculptures, and Sekisho Check Point, which features a preserved Shogun guard house and fascinating exhibits from centuries past.
