3 nightsULUWATU (BALI)

Fly into Bali, where your first port of call is Uluwatu, at the island’s southern tip. Relax after your flight (in blissful Bali style) in your pool villa at Alila Villas Uluwatu, which has a spectacular setting on a clifftop on the Bukit Peninsula, overlooking the black sand beaches and the ocean. There are numerous beaches nearby, including the sweeping Jimbaran Bay. Go beach hopping to explore stretches of sand against a dramatic backdrop of limestone cliffs.

You should also visit the temples and learn about their colourful history, especially Pura Luhur Uluwatu, a clifftop temple where you can watch panoramic sunsets over the Indian Ocean, accompanied by sacred fire dances. Meanwhile, if you are enjoying the delicious cuisine, from fresh seafood to spicy satay skewers and coconut desserts, you can learn how to make your favourite dishes on a cooking course.

3 nightsKOMODO ISLANDS CRUISE

Explore the beautiful islands of the Indonesian archipelago and meet one of the world’s most legendary creatures, the Komodo dragon, on a luxury three-night cruise on the Alexa. The Alexa is built just for two, ensuring a romantic and secluded experience, with beautiful accommodation and facilities onboard.

Wake up a gourmet breakfast on deck, as you take in the views and sail around the white sand beaches and aquamarine lagoons. Your daily personalised, tailor-made itinerary will vary according to the season, but could include diving and surfing, as well as visiting the islands – a highlight being a trek through the savannah on Komodo Island and keeping an eye out for its famous residents.

Explore the colourful underwater world of Komodo National Park, surf off the white shores of Sumbawa, whose volcanic hills and terraced rice fields tumble down to sheltered bays and coves, or simply relax on the postcard-perfect beaches, enjoying a private dinner for two under the stars as the waves lap the sand.

4 nightsSUMBA

Your next stop is the island of Sumba and the exclusive Nihi Sumba resort - nestled in tropical forests, looking out over the Indian Ocean, with deserted beaches on the doorstep, this is a heavenly retreat. While away the days on the beach, or go horse riding in the sea, swim with turtles, paddle board along the Wanukaka River and trek to hidden waterfalls in the rainforest.

As well as its beautiful setting, Sumba is also known for its arts and culture. Visit the traditional villages and colourful markets, and learn about traditional crafts such as ikat weaving during your stay.

Back at Nihiwatu, enjoy a sunset dinner on a deck cantilevered above the ocean, or tuck into a barbecue of just-caught fish on a lantern-lit table on the beach.

2 nightsHONG KONG

From island bliss to city chic - top your honeymoon off with a stay in glitzy Hong Kong, a cultural melting pot of a city. Its distinctive skyline of towering skyscrapers rises up from eclectic streets showcasing everything from market stalls to designer boutiques, and from street food to Michelin-starred restaurants.

Enjoy a top exhibition at a gallery or some Chinese opera, and for a scenic journey, take the ferry across Victoria Harbour between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, where you can ride the tram up to Victoria Peak for panoramic views over the city. At the peak, you’ll find numerous shops, restaurants and attractions, and if you time your visit for the evening, this is a good spot to see the Symphony of Lights, the nightly music and light display dancing across the glittering skyscrapers.

Take Hong Kong in from Upper House, a stylish, elegantly-designed retreat which sits high above the harbour, overlooking the city below.
