3 nightsUBUD

After flying into Denpasar, you’ll be transferred to Ubud and Komaneka at Bisma, which is nestled in tropical forest where you can immerse yourself in Indonesian island life straight away, and unwind from your flight in the blissful spa and pool. When it comes to dining, enjoy a picnic in the treetops or a candlelit dinner. Over the next couple of days, go walking and cycling through the tropical landscapes, visit ornate temples, and explore the artisanal shops and markets and buzzing bars and restaurants of Ubud – the centre is just a 10-minute walk away. Around Ubud, you’ll find terraced rice fields, volcanoes and lush green valleys, where you can discover hidden waterfalls and swim in pristine waters.

3 nightsMANGGIS

Your next stop is Manggis, one of Bali’s best-kept secrets – this haven on the east coast is blissfully undeveloped, and the locals make their living by farming, salt making, and weaving baskets and ikat textiles. Be wowed by pristine landscapes of secluded beaches, terraced hillsides, fishing villages, farms and beautiful temples, with Mount Ayung towering in the background. See Bali’s ‘mother temple’, Pura Besakih, which sits dramatically on the mountain’s slopes and is an impressive complex of more than 20 temples and several smaller shrines, spread out over three kilometres. Stay at Alila Manggis, set in a coconut grove between the sea and Mount Agung, takes its inspiration from a traditional Balinese village, and you can tuck into traditional Balinese Megibung feasts in a pagoda-style restaurant which sits on a tranquil lotus pond.

4 nightsSEMINYAK

Your final destination is the sleek beach resort of Seminyak, which is popular with both sun worshippers and surfers. The luxurious Samaya Seminyak Bali is set in tropical gardens by the beach, and offers the best of both worlds – it’s a tranquil spot, yet shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Linger in an oceanfront cocktail bar, overlooking the wide expanse of sand, and browse designer boutiques and trendy galleries, before enjoying the night-time entertainment as musicians and fire spinners gather on the beach. You may find it difficult to leave your hotel though… the stylish villas have their own private gardens and pools, there is a blissful spa, and you can enjoy yoga on the sun deck and dine on the beachfront as the sun sets over the sea – perfect for some quintessential Bali relaxation.
