Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

There is a range of cruises available around the Indonesian islands. The Dances, Dragons and Magical Lakes cruise begins in Bali and ends in Flores (or vice versa). You’ll cross the Lombok Strait and visit the Gili islands, the volcanic island of Satonda and its vast crater lake, and Komodo Island, where you’ll see Indonesia’s ‘living dinosaurs’, with plenty of swimming, snorkelling and cultural activities in between, including colourful traditional dance performances.

Rooms on the Ombak Putih

The Ombak Putih has 12 comfortable cabins, accommodating up to 24 guests. They can be configured as double or twin to suit your requirements, and feature polished teak interiors with air conditioning and private ensuite bathrooms with hot showers. Take in the ever-changing views from the portholes.

Food & Drink

The onboard chef serves up delicious local dishes, and can offer tailor-made menus on request, including vegetarian and other special diets. There is a good selection of wines, beers and spirits available.

Facilities

The lounge has a TV, DVD and music centre and books on the local landscapes and wildlife to keep you entertained, and there is plenty of space both indoors and outdoors - there are two main decks where you can enjoy the sun and take in the island vistas and spectacular sunsets from a comfortable lounger, accompanied by a glass of wine.

Activities on the Ombak Putih

Go swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking in azure waters and explore secluded white, black and red-sand beaches. Make the most of the complimentary snorkelling equipment to immerse yourself in the colourful underwater world of the Indonesian archipelago, including coral reefs teeming with tropical fish.

Onshore, visit local villages on the island of Lombok to learn about the culture of the indigenous Sasak people and watch weavers and spinners at work. On the volcanic island of Satonda, you’ll trek to the crater and lake of the Mt Tambora volcano and see thousands of flying foxes take flight at dusk. On Sumbawa, watch the locals build traditional wooden boats on the black-sand beaches, before coming face to face with the legendary komodo dragons on Komodo Island.

On your last night, enjoy a barbecue on the beach and a traditional dance performance.
