Hotel Overview

The Pottinger is located in central Hong Kong on a quirky street of the same name, also known as ‘Stone Slab Street’ for its distinctive ascent of cobblestone steps where street vendors sell all manner of costumes, props and masks.

Nightingales singing in cherry blossom trees – the pastel murals featured in The Pottinger’s beautifully-designed rooms and suites could not be more Chinese. With views of sky-scraping towers, the old-world charm of your room makes it feel like time is standing still while the world moves on outside.

The rooms may be minimalist but a lot of thought have gone into them and they all come with a coffee machine, spacious bathrooms and even recycling bins.

The on-site restaurant, Gradini, is popular with the guests as it is with the locals. Serving delicious Italian food, the restaurant also has a bar which has a lively atmosphere in the evenings.

Each guest is given a mobile phone to keep throughout their stay that comes with free international calls and Internet so you can navigate your way around the city easily.

Explore the famous cobblestone steps of Pottinger Street and browse the stalls that sell a number of quirky costumes and props, including feather boas, wigs and funny hats, that you can bring back as gifts for loved ones or if you have a fancy dress event pencilled into your diary.
Staying in central Hong Kong, you can catch the 120-year-old Peak Tram all the way to Victoria Peak (also known as Mount Austin and The Peak), where you can look down at the city glittering in a technicolour of lights. Explore the Maritime Museum by the waterfront where you can learn about the history of trade and shipping at the port and the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens where you can see different types of apes, birds and exotic plants.
