Hotel Overview

In the heart of historic Chengdu, The Temple House is a luxurious hotel set in a restored Qing dynasty stone courtyard building.

Choose from a selection of opulent studio rooms and suites or opt for a penthouse for extra space and privacy, with an outdoor bathtub and a balcony for yoga or massages with a view. The hotel's traditional exterior contrasts with a sleek, contemporary interior design, while hand-woven furniture and decorations, and the use of timber, bamboo, brick and step stones honour local artistic and architectural traditions. The result is a stunning combination of traditional Chinese and contemporary design.

There is a range of eating and drinking options, from quick Chinese and international light bites at the Temple Café to Italian at Tivano and cocktails at Jing. At Mi Xun, there is a range of private, indulgent spa treatments on offer, and an adjoining teahouse with a light menu of healthy food and drinks.

The hotel houses an ever-changing collection of contemporary art, courtesy of eight local and international artists at the ‘A Thousand Plateaus’ gallery, and their work also adorns the walls throughout the hotel.
There is also a wellness centre comprising of a state-of-the-art gym and spa with a 25-metre pool, steam room, sauna and 11 luxury treatment suites and two VIP experience suites. Choose from a selection of beauty and massage treatments including facials, massages, barber services, a nail bar and waxing services.

The hotel is a stone's throw from the Daci Temple, a former Buddhist monastery, as well as other sights including Dujiangyan, a remarkable 3rd-century BC irrigation system and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is also in the region, as is the Jinsha Site Museum, which showcases artefacts from the Shang dynasty.
