Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The PuLi is located in the Jing’An district, the business quarter in central Shanghai, which also has several museums, shops and a temple.

Rooms at The PuLi Hotel & Spa

A serene sanctuary in the bustling city, the 193 rooms and 36 suites are spa-like, with automated blackout curtains, rainforest showers, incense holders, sliding silk screens and Han Dynasty statues. The minimalist standard rooms are a mixture of dark wood furniture, contemporary slender lamps, and plush, cream-coloured beds, whilst the suites are extra exuberant, with window seats that look out over the park and the city.

Food & drink

The hotel's Michelin-starred eatery and bar, PHENIX, is helmed by chef Michael Wilson, who has put his own interpretation of French cooking techniques into the imaginatively modern dishes - expect a great variety of choices such as Angus beef tartar, slow-cooked black cod, confit of suckling pig and cracked wheat and almond salad.

Facilities

Make good use of the 25m infinity pool and the indulgent Anantara Spa, which also has a gym, Jacuzzi and steam room and after a session of rigorous pampering, enjoy a drink in the hotel's 32-metre long Bar, one of Shanghai's longest bars and treat yourself to some of its fantastic wine and champagne.

Activities at The PuLi Hotel & Spa

Staying in the Jing’An district, you’ll be right at the heart of Shanghai, just by a medley of skyscrapers, temples and shopping centres. Sitting conspicuously in Shanghai’s business quarter, the gilded-roofed Jing’An temple is a traditional Buddhist temple built in 247 AD, where you can explore the Hall of the Heavenly King and the Mahavira Hall. A green oasis in the city, Bali Laguna is an Indonesian restaurant that sits on an elevated platform above the pond in Jing’An park and is a prime dining location for locals and visitors.
