Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

A peaceful oasis among the mountains, fringed by lush green forests, the Riverside @ Hsipaw Resort is a 15-minute drive or a five-minute boat ride to downtown Hsipaw.

Rooms at Riverside @ Hsipaw Resort

You will fall in love with the riverside accommodation here. With 20 immaculately-designed rooms, the resort has an intimate feel which is ideal for taking some well-deserved time off and recharging your batteries. There is no TV or Wi-Fi in the rooms (although Wi-Fi is available in the communal areas) so you won’t be tempted to check your work emails on your break. This is also to reduce the impact on the environment and to preserve the natural beauty of the area.

The spacious rooms, with air conditioning to keep you comfortable, have showstopping views of the Dokhtawaddy River and the resort’s beautiful gardens. Each room has its own balcony with a riverside view and has a rustic feel, with the stone walls and wood furnishings emulating the natural setting of the eco-lodge.

Food & Drink

The all-day restaurant serves a range of cuisines to tantalise your tastebuds, including Shan, Western and Chinese dishes. The sheltered outdoor restaurant is ideal for making the most of the great outdoors and dining al fresco while taking in the gorgeous views, as the temperature is always warm. Sip a cocktail or two by the water.

Facilities

There is everything you need for a relaxing getaway here; unwind on the balcony or in the beautiful gardens with the sound of the flowing river in the background.

Activities at Riverside @ Hsipaw Resort

The Shan Hills are one of the biggest attractions of the area – spend the day trekking or biking around the landscapes (bikes are available at the resort). You can also take a boat trip along the Dokhtawaddy River to downtown Hsipaw where you can explore the colourful local markets. If you’d like to find out more about Burmese culture, head to the golden-roofed Shan Monastery, a significant religious centre for Buddhists.
