Gorges Lodge is a short way downstream from Victoria Falls, perched on the edge of Batoka Gorge 250 metres above the Zambezi River.

The lodge comprises ten quaint, individual stone-under-thatch cottages, dotted along the gorge’s edge in luscious landscaped gardens. Alongside the magnificent view, each boasts a private garden and decked veranda from which to take in your surroundings.

Food and facilities

Built on a stilted deck of local wood, the main lodge comprises an elegantly decorated lounge, dining room and bar, teetering on the edge of the gorge and offering incredible views across the border into Zambia. Traditional song and dance performances are regularly held before a delicious home-cooked dinner.

Activities at Gorges Lodge

Home to tame bushbuck and a stunning array of butterflies and wild flora, you’d be forgiven for wanting to do little besides relaxing on the decks and viewing stations, absorbing the views of the stunning environment. For those after a little more excitement, the mighty and iconic Victoria Falls are just a 20 minute drive away – a shuttle runs several times a day.
