Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Bumi Hills Safari Lodge is situated south-west of Kariba town, on the southern foreshore of the vast Lake Kariba.

Rooms at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

There is just a handful of rooms, all of which are very spacious and comfortable. The lake-facing rooms come with indoor sitting areas and they literally hang off the escarpment, with sublime, uninterrupted sunrise and sunset views over Kariba from the deck. The garden-facing rooms, meanwhile, feature a glimpse of the lake and have their own private veranda.

Food & Drink

With a classic safari feel, oversized furnishings and dark woods, guest areas include bush and terrace dining areas and a bar.

Facilities

There is a spacious lounge and a separate television room - not that you'll be watching much TV, since all the guest areas have awe-inspiring views over the lake and the wildlife which congregate on its shores. Meanwhile, for a bit of pampering, the wellness and massage area will ensure you’re feeling at your best after a good day’s wildlife watching.

The swimming pool is surely one of the most breathtakingly located in all of Africa, and has a large wraparound deck which is perfect for al fresco dinners and taking in the spectacular sunset over the lake.

Activities at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

Activities available include game viewing by boat or open safari vehicles - keep an eye out for Matusadona lions. Private sunset cruises, birdwatching trips, cultural tours and fishing are also on offer. Enjoy a scenic lakeside walking tour or venture into the bush to see fossilised dinosaur prints.
