2 nightsSOUTH LUANGWA

Fly into Lusaka, and connect onto a light aircraft flight up to Mfuwe. From here you’ll drive through the little villages to the bush. Along the way you’ll see fruit sellers beside the road, and children spinning hoops as they race alongside the cars. Spend two nights at Mfuwe Lodge in the heart of one of the best game viewing areas of the park. Keep eyes, and cameras at the ready, and, if you visit in November, be prepared to see the odd elephant or two wandering through the middle of the lodge.

From here, head out into the deep wilderness, for three nights of walking and game drives from lovely Kuyenda Camp. Walking safaris are a speciality of the South Luangwa, and there’s no better way to get to understand (and fall in love with) the bush around you.
