Hotel Overview

Where

Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park.

Rooms at Luangwa River Camp

Five large beautiful bush suites. There are private verandahs on each one, and each is decorated in a natural, contemporary style. What really makes the rooms stand out though are the gorgeous sunken baths - ideal for wallowing (though rather more gracefully than the hippos in the river outside) and easily big enough for two.

Food and Facilities

The main mess has a thatched roof, and is open sided so that you can look out over the bush during lunch, and as you enjoy your evening G and T. There are two pools that flow into one another, and it’s also possible to have a massage in between game drives.

Activities at Luangwa River Camp

Guiding in the South Luangwa is legendary, so any trip out into the bush is bound to be an adventure. On walking safaris you might find yourselves perched on a log watching a family of elephants drink from the river, or enthralled by a troupe of baboons scampering amongst the trees. When you’re out on a game drive you’ll have the chance to get closer to big game and some of the predators, and at night you’ll take your game drives by the light of the moon.
