Hotel Overview

Where

In the wildest part of South Luangwa National Park, with 3 waterholes opposite, the open waters of the river nearby.

Rooms at Bilimungwe

The 4 thatched “tents” at Bilimungwe are more like nests, woven amongst shady mahogany trees, and with private verandas to soak up the sights and scents of the bush. They also have open air waterfall showers (we just can’t get enough of these in Africa!), and inside they’re wonderfully romantic with canopied beds, storm lanterns, and tree-trunks for bedside tables.

Food and Facilities

You’ll be amazed at how the chefs knock up such delicious food considering they’re cooking it in total wilderness. Meals take place on the central platform, and in the evenings you can sit around the fire pit at the boma and exchange stories with the friendly guides.

Activities at Bilimungwe

As you set out on a Bilimungwe walking safari, you’ll soon discover why the guides have been dubbed some of the best in the world. Beginning at the three waterholes opposite camp, you’ll become attuned to every rustle and chirrup in the bush before heading out to the plains where leopard hunt down a multitude of game.
