Sausage Tree Camp

Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia.

Instead of the traditional green safari tents, Sausage Tree uses desert-style white canvas tents replete with dark wood and soft, rich textiles. The tents are spread out along the banks of the River Zambezi, allowing game to come down to the river in between them.

Dinners at Sausage Tree Camp are illuminated by the gentle glow of candlelight in the open air dining tent. Alternatively, the friendly staff will set up tables by a fire in the bush, or you can opt to eat on your private verandah. The dining room has a wide verandah overlooking the Zambezi, and there’s a pool for cooling off under the shade of mahogany trees.

One of the great delights of any visit to the Lower Zambezi is mucking about on the river. Game viewing activities take place both by boat and canoe or on land by in game drive vehicles or on your own two feet. The many years of training and practice put in by Sausage Tree’s top-notch guides mean that their interpretation of the bush is second to none.
