Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Tongabezi has a lovely setting on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia, upstream from the Victoria Falls.

Rooms at Tongabezi

The true aesthetic of every Tongabezi space is the underlying philosophy that nothing is too much, with the perfect combination of romance and exclusivity, mixed with warm and attentive service - each house and cottage has a private concierge who remains with guests throughout their stay. There are five open-plan stone and thatched Houses, from the romantic Honeymoon House to the Tree House, where you can wake up with the birds, and four River Cottages with gorgeous views over the Zambezi.

Food & Drink

Dine on a floating deck under the stars in the middle of the Zambezi River, or have a meal cooked by your private chef on your very own island, listening for the call of fish eagles overhead. You can even choose to have lunch on Livingstone Island on the very edge of the falls.

Facilities

With the spirit of Africa subtly seeping through the lodge, main areas are peaceful, and make full use of the natural surrounds. Indulge in a massage or take a plunge into Tongabezi’s famous rock pool to cool off in style.

Activities at Tongabezi

Victoria Falls has enough activities to keep adrenaline junkies entertained for a month. As well as game drives and guided bush walks, you can go whitewater rafting down the river, fall off the iconic bridge attached to a bungee, take a helicopter ride around the falls or jump into Devil’s Pool at the very edge of the falls and peer below - you’ll never forget this view.

Those preferring a more sedate pace can visit local villages and enjoy sunrise and sunset boat trips along the Zambezi. In the evening, don't miss the chance to do some night-time stargazing in the vast skies.
